Limited Edition Dark Elf Standard Bearer

I tried to have contrast of light and dark while maintaining the look of the Dark Elves.  I do not really like the dark amour look since it is so plain and just not bright enough for me.  I figured that the army standard bearer for such an evil race would be a perfect figure for gold armour.  Really this figure is a NMM test figure for me and I learned many new minor techniques from doing him.

DE Std Bearer front under.jpg (43018 bytes)   DE Std Bearer Left.jpg (30875 bytes)   DE Std Bearer Right.jpg (32436 bytes)   DE Std Bearer Back.jpg (33434 bytes)

DE Std Bearer Banner top.jpg (30458 bytes)I took one of the pictures and removed the banner top prior to image reduction so you can see what I was able to achieve with the NMM of the bladed top.  While I am not totally happy with it I am happy with the progress I am making learning this difficult technique.  My biggest piece of advice for this technique is super thin paint and learn to paint with the edge of your brush for bringing out the blade edges.  I used a No.2, 1 and 00 KS Series7 Brushes for the banner top.
