'Becoming more and more of a household name in the world of miniature painting, Jason Richards really cleaned up at this year's Golden Demon Award Ceremony!  Earning a whopping SIX different awards in different categories we're hoping he had some help carrying them all the way home to British Columbia, Canada!'

**I no longer accept contracts of any kind.  I am too busy with my family and job to paint for others.**

Goliath, Skull Hamma', Def Dred

This website contains the miniature artwork of Jason Richards.

I have been painting for around 12 years now and while that is really not very long I have progressed quickly.  I have a very limited artistic background focused solely on sketching.  While at university I stopped sketching altogether to focus on my academic studies.  Once I graduated I was introduced to the game of Warhammer 40K by a good friend and the rest is history.

NEWS

September 28, 2008
I
am happy to have another pretty substantial update for the site today.  I have added 2 new vehicles to my Ork Army page as well as a Warhound titan.  All of the models can be found in Gallery X.  As I said in the last update some of the models will be added to the site out of order.  The Warhound titan was painted in about June but the rest are from September.  Those Black Reach Orks are coming, I just need to get them out of the store so I can get pictures at home with them.  Ill try to get it done this week.
I am currently working on 9 nobz and a pain boy to go with my boss in the Battle Wagon.  No idea when they will be done since month end at work is really busy.  I also have 50+ other base and primed orks on my table ready for paint.
Some of you have written and commented on my lack on NMM and my obvious use of metallic paints.  While I would still consider my metallic glazes and washes to be quite rough I am really enjoying learning an entirely new technique.  I spent so much time and energy working on NMM that I neglected the use of metallic paints.  I am currently working to remedy my short comings in that that department.

W
ell it has been over a year since I last updated the site.  Needless to say I am sorry for the lack of content but I have been 'too busy' to do an update.  I have been having fun painting just for me, with no constraints or time lines.
In the last year I have done a few massive projects...and I even finished a few.
I have a lot of pictures to work through for this update and the models will be all 'out of order' time wise.  All the new models can be found in Gallery X.  In fact most were actually done in '08 since '07 was a real blur.
I am working on an Ork army and I think that it is the best army for where I am at creatively.  I have the freedom to do just about whatever I want to do and that is really cool.  Look for the Black Reach models to hit the site soon as they are already painted.  Also a custom truck is almost done and should be ready this week.
You will be able to tell from the models in Gallery X that I really embraced the Apocalypse game.  As a long time player of 40K the prospect of playing massive games with huge guns sucked me in.
T
he 'On the Bench' section has been updated with models that I need to finish.
I
no longer, in any way, accept contracts nor do I sell my work.  Not ever.  So please do not ask.  I am using the site to share my work and that is it.
