Grey Knights for 40K

I didn't want [couldn't bring myself] to paint the models with metallic paints.  I decided to paint them in blended grey NMM with gold NMM for the letters and details.  The letters really stand out, which was one of my main goals.

Grey Knight Captain Stern

Grey Knight Cptn front.jpg (53106 bytes)   Grey Knight Cptn front above.jpg (54664 bytes)   Grey Knight Cptn front right.jpg (41667 bytes)   Grey Knight Cptn back.jpg (49088 bytes)   Grey Knight Cptn front left.jpg (46445 bytes)

I added details like the Ordo Malleus around the cloak, the gold textile swirl on the loin cloth and the iconry on his shoulder shield to make the model stand out.  He is one of the most powerful individuals in the 40K game so I figured he deserved to look it.  Since the sword channels pshchic energy I tried to make it look like energy is coursing through a swirling cloudy type blade.

Grey Knight in Terminator Armour

Grey Knight term front.jpg (51252 bytes)   Grey Knight term right.jpg (43899 bytes)   Grey Knight term right 2.jpg (42115 bytes)   Grey Knight term back.jpg (44789 bytes)   Grey Knight term left.jpg (43549 bytes)

The sword is the same as above since I painted them together and the theme fits.  The gold NMM helmet really sets this model off.  I also made the end of his incinerator glowing as if he had just let a prolonged burst go.

Grey Knight in Power Armour

It is funny how much I like this model.  When I saw it I think I actually liked it better than the terminators.  I just love the casual yet deadly stance and the gun is very cool looking.  I carried the winged them on his shoulder and it looks really sharp.
