ELDAR SCOUT
This model is one I have painted a couple of years ago as a jester.  It was nice to be able to paint him in a stylistic winter scheme this time.  The folds of the cloth on this model are amazing to bring to life and I had a lot of fun working with a subdued yet varied pallet. To create a model that works with the winter style I decided to create a head covering and face scarf.  I feel that this small change in the model really make for a large impact in the look.  More pictures can be found here.

NEKHAR the ECSTATIC
I really like the Devourer line from Rackham.  The models have a ferocious life to them that can not be ignored.  This massive model has some of the best wolfen armour and weapon designs in the entire range.  This combined with the pose and the large back banner made it impossible for me to resist painting him.  His armour is a very rich red that contrasts nicely with the NMM gold trim.  More pictures can be found here.

Yh-Ibenseth, MID-NOR HERO
This model is one I have had around for a long time.  I filed him away and forgot about him.  I found him during a recent move and was excited to try my hand at the Mid-Nor range again.  I find the ability to paint many different colours together to be one of the most appealing aspect of this line.  They help to feed the 'Nurgle' in me.  I only found the wee 'lil hero after I painted Yh-Ibenseth so I had to do my best to paint him the same.  I must say that painting at that scale is challenging.  More pictures can be found here.

SASIA the 2nd INCARNATION [CLOAK]
This is a reworked version of a great Confrontation model.  Her looming pose makes this model an amazing example of style that Rackham seeks to achieve.  She is one of the most fragile figures I have ever worked on since she is modeled to scale.  I went with a rose tone on her armour and it really emphasizes the ridges of the plates.  More pictures can be found here.

SASIA the 2nd INCARNATION
This model is the foot version of the above model and so she is done in the same pallet and scheme.  I find the pose of this model to be a bit too ponderous, lacking the elegance of the cloaked model.  However, her amazing armour makes this model a real treat to look at.  The cactus on he base and the cacti on the cloaked model were sculpted to lend some vision to the desert look.  More pictures can be found here.

MIRA the RECKLESS
This is another excellent miniature from the Griffon line of the Confrontation game.  The sculpted motion is believable and really helps this model to come alive.  The base was done in a rose marble accentuating the nobility of the model quite well.  More pictures can be found here.

KELEN the 13th VOICE
This model is one of the older Confrontation figures and it is still one of the most stylish.  The pose is amazing and the minute raised detail of the armour is awesome.  I am very happy that I finally took the time to paint this model.  I used the fall scheme I used for the wood elves and am very happy with the way the chest armour turned out.  His robe was painted from the waist to the knee with brown greys and then from the base to the knees with brown yellow.  More pictures can be found here.

CARNOSAUR & SAURUS OLDBLOOD HERO
This is my first lizardman model and I really like what GW has done to capture the reptilian aspect of the rider.  The carnosaur is an amazing model, full of predatory menace.  I did some bulking up of the riders scales, gave him forearm spikes, a scimitar and a rippled shield to depict his wargear.  I also painted him in an albino scheme to further reflect his wargear options.  I had a lot of fun sculpting and painting the base for the model.  I used two wood blocks for the base I had as scraps from my shop.  More pictures can be found here.

HAND of FATE POSSESSED
This monstrosity of chaos has no other purpose other than to kill.  He writhes along on his mass of tentacles crushing and rending with his massive claws.  This model was a real inspiration to build and paint.  Needless to say I had a lot of fun with this guy since he is so wild.  I decided to really embrace the 'twisted by Chaos' look and feel he fits the bill.  More pictures can be found here.

HAND of FATE BEASTMEN
I do not paint many beastmen, so I took this opportunity to paint two of the very cool characters found in the range.  Since both are supposed to be armed with an axe and dagger I had to a bit of weapon swapping.  I also had to drastically change the shaman model so he could be posed on a regular round base.  Both models are dark to fit into the existing Hand of Fate warband.  More pictures can be found here.

MINOTAUR UNIT
This was quite an ambitious project.  Turning 7 skirmishing figures with 2 hand weapons into 7 rankable models with great weapons.  I wanted the models to remain brooding once painted and that is why I went with a darker natural skin tone.  They are however followers of Slaanesh so I had to add purples and blues to the mix.  I did the blades in a rough bronze NMM.  The rest of the unit can be found here.

WOOD ELF ARMY STANDARD BEARER AMIILITHIA
This model was featured in the Sculpting Gallery a few weeks ago.  At that time I knew the model would look good in a finished form but I am very excited by how she turned out.  The natural fall paint scheme of the character really does blend into the base and the standard.  More pictures can be found here.

TAU COMMANDER RETHIAN, The BLOODHAWK
This model has got to be the best Tau model that GW has ever produced.  Not only is the armour amazingly done but the armaments of the model are posed perefectly.  This model was done as a Golden Demon test figure for a diorama I will be doing next year.  All I can say is I am very impressed by the way the model painted up.  I posed him in flight, just taking off from the ground.  I feel that his pose really warrants this change and makes the model so much more amazing.  More pictures can be found here.

ANDEL'RION, MASTER OF THE DEEP WOOD
This model is one of the more striking of the new WE line.  His pose combined with the elegantly sculpted robes makes this model stand out.  He was painted to be used for D&D, hence the dungeon tile round base.  I used the fall scheme on this model as I feel the red really brings the robes to life.  More pictures can be found here.

HJORL, MASTER OF THE HUNT
This model was painted in two parts, the beast and the rider.  I have done all the characters for my SW army in black and so I decided to keep that look for Hjorl.  I did however want the model to tie in well with the grey of the army.  So I decided to do a split scheme, with Hjorl done in the characteristic black and Rekka, the beast he rides, in grey.  This model was not airbrushed like the rest of the army so it took a lot of time to blend in the greys.  The model has a real sense of depth in each armour plate created by the layering.  More pictures of the model can be found here.

THE CORYPHAEUS
I have had this model on my table for some time now.  From the moment I saw the art for the figure I knew it was going to be an awesome sculpt.  This is one of Rackham's more 2D models, althought it does have the outstretched arm pulling the soul from the ground.  Even though it is more static than usual it does not detract from the great imagery of the model.  More pictures can be found here.

BLACK PALADINS
These three models are so evil looking it was only a mater of time before I painted them.  Their gaunt frames combined with the awesome armour they have on create an amazing model.  The aspect of these models that stands out the most for me is the fantastic sculpt of the faces on the front of the shields.  More pictures can be found here.

DARK ELF NOBLE ON DARK PEGASUS
The evil nature of this model is reflected in the eerie pastels of the rider and the reds of the mount.  This use of opposing colours helps to capture the sense that the mount is different from the rider and yet part of the same whole.  I really like how the reds play off the pastel blues and greens in this composition.  I went with a classic goblet for his shield heraldry but instead of upright I tipped it with blood pouring from it.  More pictures can be found here.

DARK ELF SORCERESS
It has been some time since I have painted this model.  I have always like the staff and the crooked finger of this figure.  I painted her in very broody colours to reflect the dark nature of the magic she uses.  I also wanted her to tie in with the noble I painted above, so many of the tones are similar.  More pictures can be found here.

COMMANDER THEROS
Usually I shy away from doing chapter specific marines since I like models that can fill a roll in many armies.  However, this character model, with his fantastic detail and pose made me want to paint the figure.  From the purposeful stride to the flowing cloak this model is amazing.  I decided to replace the sword [which is a bit too small] with a large hammer that can be used as either a thunder hammer or power weapon.  More pictures can be found here.

CHAPLAIN DERKKA
I have always loved the chaplain models in the Space Marine line.  Their eerie skull helmets and dark story really set these models apart.  When I saw this model, with the new terminator armour I knew I would work on him one day.  The perfect tilt of his head and the adornments on his armour make this model one of the best chaplains yet.  I used the banner pole from the Blood Angel standard bearer and it really helps to make this model impressive.  The base was painted in a dark green marble scheme to further emphasis the model.  More Pictures can be found here.

ADDITIONAL MODELS FOR THE 03/04 SPACE WOLF ARMY
I added 3 models to battle group Algiz and 4 to battle group Kenaz.  This allows both packs to be 10 men if desired.  I also painted a hatch for Freki, the razorback for BG Kenaz.  This allows it to be used as a rhino.  Pictures of these new models can be found here.

FORGEWORLD CHAOS DRAGON
This massive model combines all the skills I have developed over the years and forced me to reevaluate some skills.  It was by far the hardest model I have ever painted but now that I am done I am very happy that I took the time to paint it.  More pictures can be found here.

INQUISITOR LORD BARBOSSA
This model was converted to have a wrist mounted psycannon and a relic staff.  The cannon conversion required the removal of part of his cape and a resculpt to make it look like part of the model.  I chose a dramatic deep red armour scheme that really stands out on his multi level armour.  The blade of the relic was done in a grey yellow to give it an aged bone look.  More pictures can be found here.

SPACE WOLF TERMINATOR
This model was painted as an addition to the SW army I created last year.  In keeping with the paint scheme of the army his armour is black, marking him as a veteran.  The chest and shoulders are from the Forgeworld SW pack and are very nice to work with.  The head, while in scale with the armour is a bit smaller than the standard plastic heads.  While not a big deal it is noticeable while painting.  More pictures can be found here.

INCUBES du DESPOTE
These models are from the Mid Nor Dwarves line from the game Confrontation.  I have always been fascinated by this line because of the rotten pallet combined with bright colours.  The sculpts work particularly well with my style and I really enjoyed working on these figures.  More pictures can be found here.

WOOD ELVES IN WINTER
These three models were done in a cold pallet depicting elves in winter garb.  It was nice to move from the warm pallet I chose for the wood elf army to a cool set of colours.  I can only imagine how cool a winter wood elf army would look.  More pictures can be found here.

DARK ELF ASSASSIN
I really like the Dark Elf range of models.  The sense of darkness and evil expressed by pose and sculpt  are some of the best that GW has ever created.  This model is no exception.  I painted the model in a dark scheme as would be found on an assassin that prowls the darkness.  For the most part the colours are not highlighted brightly, instead I provided depth through the use of various darkened tones.  More pictures of this model can be found here.

TREEMAN
This model is simply fantastic.  The pose enables the viewer to see a creaking tree stretching to life in the defense of it's forest.  With the larger work space I was able to show the multi colour blends better and to more dramatic effect.  This model is very large, barely fitting on a 50mm base.  The size of the model is fitting since he is old beyond years and very powerful.  More pictures can be found here.

TREEKIN
These models were sculpted by Microart Studios at the request of the army designer.  They fit the roll of powerful tree spirits so much better than the ones from the Wood Elf range.  The sculpts allowed me to really work with many colour blends to achieve a living organic scheme.  These models really add to the over all effect of the force and were a pleasure to paint.  More pictures can be found here.

WILD RIDERS
These are the last of the elven units for the army.  I really like the texture of the armour on the horses head.  I was hard pressed to use the red tie in on these pieces since they don't have cloth cloaks and have little actual clothes.  I compromised and only some of the models have red but it is enough to link into the rest of the army.  I painted the horses to look like Flaxen sorrel with the main and tail being more grey than blonde.  More pictures can be found here.
