They are now finished! The three units are about the best units I have painted, ever. I went all out through the entire process from, 4 highlights on the armour, to 5 highlights on the yellow of the helmets and Shas'ui shoulders, to 4 highlights on the shoulder symbol, to 3 highlights on the scope optics and buttons on the scope. I did sept markings on the shoulder, helmet and gun and while this white on black is time consuming [and I have little time] I really like the look it gives. I glossed the orb on top of the banners, the white half spheres at the end of the guns, the scope optic, scope buttons, shoulder symbol and helmet optic. The only area I 'skimped on' was the cloth of the pants and top. I figures that I wanted them to be invisible anyway, so I painted them so that they do not detract from the armour and the guns. I have lots of pictures of each unit at different positions because I am so happy with them. If you do look at all of them you will notice that the sept markings between units are different.

Fire Warrior Squad Heisin'sho

This is Shas'ui Ko'lisan for squad Heisin'sho. This picture really shows up the armour highlights and the sheen of the shoulder symbol.

This picture is at max picture size for my camera so for those of you with slow connections you might want to give this one a miss as it is friggin' huge. It does, however, really show up the 'call signs' I painted onto the side of each helmet. They are all different and most of the symbols are even Tau characters.

Fire Warrior Squad Lo'Reikki Aun

This squad will be the one joined by the Ethereal. The unit has given up their helmets to symbolize their commitment to the Aun [Ethereal] and the greater good. This association with the Aun is also reflected in their unit name.

This is Shas'ui Xi'Dao for squad Lo'Reikki. It really shows up the face which I feel make this unit really special. He skin tone was done with a base of Shadow Grey and then blends with Hideous Blue [old Citadel Paint], ending with lightened Hideous Blue and finally white.

Fire Warrior Squad Chi'Rho

This shows a close-up a Shas'la.

These basic troops are just so amazing! Dynamic, real poses designed for a shooting army. I have added some work in progress pics.

Since I am painting all 36 Fire Warriors at once progress seems slow but I know that it is WAY faster doing it this way than in smaller groups.

This unit is gonna be the one the Ethereal joins. I wanted to add some character to the army so I figure an elite unit of Fire Warriors as an honour guard would be cool. The heads are finished but you can see I still have a ways to go.
