Drones

I decided to do all the drones at the same time and while I feel it went fast doing it this way it sure was a painful experience.  I did the two shield drones for the stealth suits and the two for the pathfinders like I did the units.

The shield drones were converted in the following way.  I sculpted a shield pod from greenstuff that would allow me to make a 'negative' and still retain all the detail.  I then formed a greenstuff mold around the cured pod and make a shield pod stamp.  I then attached it to the top of a Zap-a-Gap lid, put conical mounds of greenstuff on a piece of plastic card and stamped out 14 of the pods.  If you try this make sure the conical mounds are free of finger prints and then apply a bit of olive oil to both the mound and the mould before each stamping.

In the side shot you can see the different unit designations and the number of each drone attached to each unit.  It is going to be hard to remember at first but once I get the hang of it it should go ok.  And it is gonna be damn hard for my opponent to say which is which.

[Sorry about the picture quality, they just proved to be too time consuming to edit.]
