SPACE WOLF ARMY

VEHICLES

WiP Pictures:

Day 1:
It is really hard to see from the pictures that these models already have a tremendous amount of depth.  Tomorrow will see two more layers and then hopefully a start to the edge highlights.

Day 2:

Morning:

In these shots you can see that the depth of each plate is really coming along.  One more to go and then I'll flat varnish them and do the edge highlighting.  It is important to varnish spray them when you are done to prevent fingerprints from forming.

Afternoon:

You can see in the first picture that the 'command' rhino top doors are not as highlighted.  I will be painting the doors with pattern so figured that I wouldn't waste time by building up brightness.

For the speeder and dreadnought I brought the plates up higher than the vehicles.  This is because for smaller plates you need more 'artificial' highlights since there is less for natural light to work with.  Once I get the edging on they will blend in very nicely with the rest of the armour.

 Day 3:

Not very easy to see any weathering at this distance and the colour balance is a bit off but here they are.  You can see that everything is black and ready to be painted.  I will likely do a brown weathering airbrush at certain panel intersections then paint over the black areas.  Lastly I will do the drybrushing of the edges of the armour.  Not sure the colour but it will likely be some kind of desert yellow mixed with Space Wolf Grey and white.

Day 4:

You can see from these shots that the vehicles are progressing nicely.  I have weathered the armour exhaust areas and the grime wash [done twice since the first time was too paint] make the models look good.  The lighter grey solid contrast areas I painted really help to make the vehicle look less monotone.  Once I get the edging done they will look super.  After that it is just the details.

Day 5:

These shots show one of the rhinos after all weathering.  I decided against the rust streaks since I like the dirty clean look I have.  Really not that mush more to do before it is finished.

In this shot you can see how developed the armour looks when it has been line highlighted and edged with drybrush.  I am getting excited to see the finished vehicles.

Day 6:

These shots show the predators with all the weathering done and the sponsons attached to their pods.

Day 8:

These are the three remaining vehicles to finish for the army.  As you can see the parts that need to be finished are the parts that are not common to the rest of the vehicles such as crew and base.
