December 23 2002 Best of the season to all. It is hard to believe that it has been over a month since I last updated my site. What with Christmas and me painting GD models the time has just faded to nothingness. I have finished 2 more GD entries, a 40K monster and a 40K single. I am very happy with both but unfortunately it will be many months for I am able to share with anyone. I have done a Nurgle Demon Prince that I have added to Gallery IV. Not very festive, I know, but very cool. November 17 2002 Hello all. While I don't have any pictures I have some GD painting updates. I have now finished 2 models for Golden Demon competition that I will be entering in 2003. I have also a heavily converted and sculpted 40K single figure built as well as a 40K monster that I am currently laying paint on. I also have an Open entry built and primed just awaiting paint. By the end of January I hope to have 6 finished pieces. I would like to thank the visitors to my site that gave me some much needed advice on Photoshop. Specifically they told me how [in different ways] to remove the yellow tint from the Soul Drinker Librarian found in Galley IV. The advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you. November 11 2002 Another dark elf has been added to Gallery IV. This one is a converted Corsair champion mounted on a converted Dark Pegasus. November
5 2002 Well folks this is gonna be a big update. I have been so busy that I have been waiting for a lull in my painting to update. I have added a sculpted possessed for Modheim, a possessed war band based of the Hand of Fate war band found in WD a while ago, a very converted bloodletter of Khorne, a Tzeench champion on foot and a Tzeench Lord on a Disc. They can all be found in Gallery IV. October 31 2002 I am sorry for the recent down time. The host for the site was hit by a nasty hacker and their servers also suffered physical damage. So, I had to do a server migration and up load my entire site again. Took a few days to coordinate everything. I will have pics of a Mordheim warband soon as well as a very converted Blood Letter and Tzeench champion on foot. October 17 2002 I have been pretty busy the past 10 days. I have 2 painted models and a green sculpt to add to Gallery IV. The painted figures are Razheem a model from the Confrontation line and a Death Watch Librarian. The green is a Keeper of Secrets that I sculpted for a friend while he sat and watched me work. He got a pretty cool model to paint and I was able to impart some of my sculpting knowledge to him. Check it all out here. October 7 2002 Hello all. My vision is still messed, with one eye being near sighted and one being farsighted now. The farsighted eye will come out good but it will take a while. Eventually they will have to touch-up the right eye as well but for now it is a waiting game. So, what does this mean for my painting...Well, it means I have to paint and sculpt with an opti-visor as a means of compensating for no depth perception. It has worked pretty well but I am still on a holding pattern for all my 2003 Demon projects. I have been pretty busy training my eye and coordination to the new painting system. As a result I have a few new pieces for Gallery IV. I have added an Eldar Farseer and a Fianna Musician. September 22 2002 My how time flies. I had my left eye touched-up with another laser surgery on the 13th and have not been painting as a result. It went fine but it will take some time for the eye to stabilize and untill it does no new models from me. I hope to have some new gear up in a week or two. September 4 2002 I have added more models to Gallery IV. Two Dark Elves done in the same paint scheme of deep blue and rich red. They are a witch from the Cauldron of Blood and the Ltd. Ed standard bearer. I will be away for 8 days so my ability to check e-mail and such will be a bit limited. I can remote check my mail but responses will be hard to promise. August 28 2002 I have added a new model to Gallery IV. It is a totally converted and resculpted Lord of Change. It is pretty cool so check it out. I also was fortunate to recently receive the book Fantasy Miniatures, published by Games Workshop. In it are a plethora of amazing models painted by the best painters from the most recent Golden Demon competitions around the world. I was [am still] bursting with pride to have two of my models included in such prestigious company. The Red Terror wrapped around the Emperor's Champion statue and the Gate Crasha made the cut and are in amazing company in this book. The book is a must have for aspiring competitive painters as it shows such a wide array of models and skills. I am done accepting contracts at this time. Thanks to all of you that have filled up my available time. I will post again when I have any openings. August 17 2002 I have added a link button so that if people wish to link to miniaturespace from their site they have a nice graphic. It can be found here. I would still appreciate being asked/notified if you are going to link to my site so I can know where I am linked to. I have added the Space Wolf Predator to my For Sale page. August 11 2002 I have returned from the war with many tales of honour and death. Our side won the battle points and had a great time doing it. Our group of 28 fighters was always where the fighting was the fiercest and so I saw lots of intense combat. I have added a Space Wolf Predator Annihilator to Gallery IV. It was an amazing kit to build and looks very nice, in a historic war weathered way. Check it out. While I am still accepting contracts all of the recent spots are gone. So, if you want something painted and can wait about 6 weeks or so then e-mail me. July 31 2002 I have just finished the undead minotaur from the Confrontation line. He is called the Great Skull and man was he ever fun to paint. I would strongly suggest picking this model up as he almost paints himself. Pictures of him can be found in Gallery IV. On an unrelated note I am off to a large SCA war tomorrow. For four days and four nights we will be living the lives of Dark Age warriors [except I plan on bathing :)]. On the 3rd and 4th of August we will engage in battle with upwards of 800 other fighters in all day combat. Gonna be fun! July 26 2002 I will be accepting a limited number of contracts over the next couple of months. If you are interested in securing a place on my painting schedule please write me soon as space is limited and tends to fill up fast. I will be willing to do most singles from 40K and WHFB and some vehicles for 40K. I will only enter into contract with people interested in high quality display game pieces and or Golden Demon level figures. People interested in figures from other manufacturers should feel free to contact me as well. I have started a Forgeworld figure for USGD 2003. It is very fun to try my hand at the large scale figures again. Abaddon was so fun to paint that I have purchased many a resin model from Forgeworld in the hopes I would find the time to set paint down on them. I have also almost finished a trial sculpt and conversion for a rhino that I will enter at GD as well. I will not enter this piece but it gives me a feel for what I can pull off at the quality required to be competitive. July 18 2002 I have added a new miniature to Gallery IV. It is the Undivided Chaos Lord for WHFB. I will endeavor to have a new model up weekly, but every two weeks is probably more likely. I have started [finished actually] the sculpt and conversion for my 40K Single entry next year. He is pretty damn cool, if I do say so myself, but you all will have to wait 'til next year to see him. July 5 2002 I am back from USGD. I was only able to finish two entries in the time I had allotted but that was enough to get a trophy with. I won 1st place [gold] in 40K monster with my very converted Great Unclean One, the greater demon of Nurgle. The other model I did was Elf prince Tyrion on a standard horse base in WHFB Single figure. He made first cut and then was still in the running until figure 6 and then he was dropped. I am very proud of both models and would now like to share the pictures with everyone. I was under such a time crunch that I do not have any work in progress pictures, and I am sorry for this. The Great Unclean One was such an amazing undertaking that WiP pics would have been a good way for people to see what was going through my mind. I do have greens of the GUO and will include those for viewing as well. Please look here for the pictures of both entries. I must congratulate all the winners at this years show. Victor's Chaos champion was staggering, Bobby's Tyrion was so beautiful and the gold was done so well that I was in awe. The piece that struck me the most, however, was Bryan Shaw's battle scene. The composition and vision of the two dragons engaged in aerial combat was fantastic. May 10 2002 I am well under way with my demon entries for this year. I will be doing only 3 categories due to time pressures put on me by my eyes and finger. I would dearly love to do more but there is always next year. The 3 categories I will be entering are: 40K single, WHFB Single and WHFB Monster. The figures I have chosen are gonna remain a secret but I will have pics on the site as soon as the contest is over. On a side note but one I feel is very important, I have been receiving a number of virused e-mails to my inbox. They are from people I do not contact or have not contacted me. This leads me to believe that someone has a worm on their system and it is spreading via e-mail. This has lead me to 'block sender' a number of e-mails. April 19 2002 I added the Ltd Ed Dark Elf Standard Bearer to Gallery IV. For all of you looking for NMM this is my best attempt to date for silver/grey NMM yet. The figure took some time to do but the amount I learned was well worth it. April 2 2002 I have added a historical 54mm Roman Cavalry Officer and the GW High Elf special character, Teclis to Gallery IV. The reason why I have done so little the past month is because I had laser eye surgery on March 1st. It went well but it required me to take some time off and when I started painting again I found it was not the same. I was very near sighted and this enabled me to hold a model quite close to my eyes and inspect it for faults and or do very fine detail work. Now that I have 20/20 vision I no longer have the close vision as my focusing system is now optimized for about 4 inches. I suspect I may eventually go out and get an omni-visor so I can paint like I used to but for the time being I am happy with my post surgery models. March 9 2002 I have added an Inquisitor model by Tom Schadle, with comments, to the Guest Gallery. It is great paint work and well worth a look. February 26 2002 I added a figure that I did in 2001 to Gallery III. It is my VIC 6 entry for an on-line painting expo. I can't believe I forgot to put it up 'til now. Finger continues to improve but I am still a long way from my old 15 hour days. ;) I will be out of commission from Feb. 28th to March 5th so please don't expect a great level of correspondence. I will be adding pictures of an =I= model to my guest gallery in the next day or so. February 14 2002 I have added another figure to Gallery IV. It is a highly converted Inquisitor for the GW game of the same name. He is the last figures that I sculpted prior to my injury. February 08 2002 I have put up Victor Hardy's article from 2000 on how he won the Slayer Sword. It is seemingly no longer available on the net and so I was asked to place it on my site. Since it was so influential in my painting success I was extremely happy to oblige. Check it out here. February 05 2002 I have finally picked up a brush and have 2 new figures up in Gallery IV. Both were started many months ago and it was a relief to finish them. It was more of a relief to find that my finger appears to be doing pretty good. I am taking it very slow but I should have more figures up soon. :) January 30 2002 I am almost ready to try painting again. I think that it has been long enough and my finger feels good. So, for those of you that have been e-mailing me, asking for Gallery IV pics...they will be along soon. I will be much slower but I hope to have some pieces done next week. On an unrelated note I started in the local SCA. I will have pics of my armour in early March. It is lots of fun and a great way to distract myself from painting. |
